I've lived here for 2 years and since then management has changed (previously Four Towers) they have made TONS of improvements. The grounds are looking a lot nicer and they are repairing issues with the older buildings. I live in Pointe A, which I think is the nicest building here. Being on the top floor, it's clean and quiet. I never hear the neighbors. Maintenance has always been very prompt and polite. I have not had any issues living here. It's a great value for the sq. feet and monthly rent with plenty of parking.
I have lived here for almost 5 years. Since December of 2011 and I live alone with my cat. I initially moved here because my cousin has lived here for a long time, and rent was affordable since I had just moved out of my parent's house. I am reading some of these reviews and cannot help but think that some of these people are a little over dramatic. First and foremost, these are NOT five star apartments. If that is what you want, then you need to move to the studio apartments on the river-banks for $2500.00 per month. Oh? It's too much money? Then I don't know what to tell you. I feel like sometimes people complain just to complain...like stop, please! Anywho.. I am a pretty clean person by nature and have never had any roach or bedbugs issues. The only bugs I see are the occasional fly, however in the summer I think that the gnats are a bit of a pain, but if you clean up your kitchen, then they eventually die off. They only become a problem if they have somewhere to breed or food to eat-which would come from a person leaving food out. One complaint would be from when it was prior management which is CMC and they did not fix my dishwasher after it was broken forever. I have become accustomed to living without a dishwasher at this point that I don't really even care. However, that was when this was still Four Towers and previous management. Since it has become Vantage Pointe West they have: 1. Given everyone new Windows and doors. Top of the line, too! 2. Starting the remodeling of apartments. 3. Fixing and replacing balconies. 4. Built a new and very nice leasing office 5. Implemented a great security team that monitors the complex at night. (I have noticed that the drug deals have stopped). 6. Provided us with new doors and keys. 7. New Hallway paintjob and carpet 8. New Washers and Dryers 9. Doesn't raise rent per year. 10. New Pool! Plus I am sure much more yet to come! Another complaint would be the most recent requirement to purchase rental insurance and the recent Memo stating we can no longer have welcome mats outside our doors. I feel that is a little extreme and that is getting into the phase of micro-managing. As long as they do not start to micro-manage then I will continue to live here until I finish graduate school and/or purchase a home. Another thing I would like to thank them for is respecting the privacy of tenants. CMC used to come into my apartment at all times. A couple of times, male maintenance entered my apartment early in the morning while I was still asleep! "Claimed it was the wrong apartment". I only feel comfortable having people in my apartment as long as I am there--and they seem to respect that. So all-in-all it is not too bad. It is not somewhere I would like to raise my children when I do have them, but it works for me, as a young, single, professional. As long as you pay your rent on time and keep your home clean (and you don't have to be OCD--but clean up after yourself), you should not have many issues. Thanks, Yula N.
This place is getting better. Management cannot be expected to change/fix all the problems over night. We moved in about 7 months ago to a nice, clean apartment with brand new carpet through out, new fixtures, new wondows, and new paint. They come and spray often and then if I ask them to spray extra, they promptly do it the following Wednesday. Neighbors are noisy, but if you want quiet all the time ..... rent a house. The new police station a stones throw away really gives that extra secure feeling. They are on the property every night and they are very nice. Unfortunately, some tenants are gross but how is that managements fault? They have replaced building doors and the hallway carpets. The pool area will be open soon and they HAD to remodel it because they could not have a lifeguard on duty at all times. The only real complaint I have now is the front door to my apartment. They don't latch shut when you close them and that presents a problem when bringing in groceries and my small dog likes to open the door and run outside. I do recommend this place as long as you can understand management can't change a 1 star to a 4 star overnight.
I have been living here since May and I cannot wait for my lease to be up!! Maintenance staff is pretty incompetent. There are a few that are decent, and I try to request them if at all possible. A/C went out during the HOTTEST weekend this year, and maintenance on call refused to come out. It was hotter in my apartment than it was outside....4 days with no AC and it was over 90 in my apartment. I changed my own filters in the furnace because mine was horrible and they never replaced it. Towel rod was loose in the bathroom so I went to tighten it and it fell off the wall and there was a hole the size of a quarter that was just patched over with nothing to support it. Maintenance came to fix it, and they patched it up again and rehung the towel bar, at an angle..not even close to straight. Had to be redone again. Came to replace screens in the windows and they left the window open and then snow and cold weather happened, and the windows were frozen open and the draft was horrible. It royally screwed up my heating bill for a few months. They came to replace with new windows and we discovered there was mold all over the window casings. They had to literally break the windows that were in there to get them out because of how they were installed previously. Promised by the leasing agent when we rented that pool would be ready by July, then got pushed to August, then got pushed to next year. That was a big selling point for me with having young kids. But they had PLENTY of money to build a brand new huge leasing office. Priorities. All the ads stated it's the only gated complex in the area, but no gates are ever functioning. Great way to sell something that doesn't exist! The tenants are horrible for the most part. No one cares about trash and picking up after themselves. There is trash everywhere. In the hallways, the elevators, the parking lot, even 2 feet in front of the dumpsters. Hallways wreak of some of the most awful smells (mildew, mold, dirty, BO, who knows - it's just awful). People smoke everywhere they are not supposed to. Elevators, hallways, it's nasty. It seeps through the walls and my apartment smells of smoke, which makes me very sick. I cannot wait to move. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!
This place is a hole. Terrible. Roaches everywhere, leaks, mold, balconies rotting through, break-ins, theft, etc. You name it, they have it. No help from new management, only the continuance of old problems. Buildings are old and the pipes lining them are just as old. Pool not in service because management is spending money on building a new office instead of getting rid of roaches and leaks. They paint over mold, patch bug holes and shut them behind closed doors. Constant noise, kids fighting, non existent security. Lights broken, carpets dirty and mold-infested through the halls. Doors to apartment buildings unlocked. New doors and windows in the front building, but none of the others. They promised mine last November and it is currently July. If you are thinking about moving here, don't. Literally any place is better than this roach infested hell-hole. Take what little money you have a go elsewhere.
