Convenient location, close to intestate 71 and 75, and a bunch of stores. One row of the apartments are close enough to a freight rail road which can be disturbing, but the other side is quiet. Nice quiet neighbors. The pool can get little like cancun in the summer but not a big deal. The office staff and maintenance are very professional and timely. The apt itself is fine, not as new as new construction but good for my needs. Washer and dryer in the apt which is awesome. I'm signing onto my third year here and I'm happy and I feel safe.
Brookstone Number 1 Fan here! Well, I just can't tell you how much I enjoy living here!!! If you don't know this apartment, just look on Craig's List- they post constantly! Its so hard for me to determine what my favorite aspect of this apartment is... I don't know if its the outrageously high utility bills, the rumbling train that sounds like a landing space craft at all hours of the night, the thin walls, the broken seals in all the window panes that cause excess condensation all winter long, or the $100/month high speed internet that struggles to stream Netflix. Oh, I will say that the drunken debauchery in the oversized toilet bowl of a swimming pool is a nice treat! Thanks Connor Group! You are one class act! >:o)
I was extremely unhappy here for several reasons. The staff is very misleading. My utility bill has been at least $20 more than was promised each month. Upon noticing this my first month there, I confronted the staff and they claimed the first utility bill is always more expensive... and the next month my utility bill was even more expensive. I think it is important to note that I lived on the second floor so I had a floor above me and below me. I did not turn on the heat once this winter but my bill did not reflect this. I was also not able to sublease my apartment like I was told I would be able to. It was only after I was extremely unhappy with my living conditions that I was informed that every apartment has to be occupied for me to sublease my own apartment. When this situation occurred, some of my friends that lived on the top floor moved out. I thought, to better my living conditions, the staff might allow me to move into their apartment after they left. They were going to have me pay a very hefty fee for my move, even after I had been lied to about subleasing, so I chose not to put more money into this company and did not move. This brings me to my final point. The buildings are not built well. The plumbing was messed up in my neighbors apartment for some time so anytime they turned on their faucet I heard a hammering sound. This lasted for about four months before it was fixed; a work order had been put it, it was just neglected. Another problem I had experienced with the construction of the place was how I could hear every step of my neighbors above me. This is a normal apartment living predicament, I admit, but the extent of the noise is unbelievable. I had befriended my upstairs neighbor and they tried their best to walk quietly for me, but no matter how they tried, the place would creek and moan from one human walking. If they took one wrong step, the light fixtures would begin to rattle. It was like a stampede was constantly happening right above me. This is not a relaxing environment. I would only recommend these apartments to someone I really wanted to suffer. And don't fall for the flashing sign outside; the two bedroom apartments are not oversized. The only positive thing I can say is the dogs are cute there.
My experience at Brookstone Village has been great. The staff has been extremely friendly, diligent, and is willing to work with you immediately if you have any issue. The clubhouse is also very well maintained with state of the art equipment. It is located in the Oakley/Hyde Park area which in my opinion is one of the nicest locations in Cincinnati. Literally just about across the street within 1 minute you have a massive new Super Kroger's, Meijer, Target, and Sam's Club, so you do not have to go far for anything if you don't want to. The neighborhood here also just keeps developing and getting even better, so overall I would definitely recommend it!
I have enjoyed living at Brookstone! I like that it's a gated community and very close to all of the freeways. The location is very very convenient. The staff is very nice and they will work with you.
