This is a fantastic apartment complex. I moved in a few weeks ago. Set everything up online, as I was traveling in from a couple thousand miles away. The grounds are beautiful, the apartments are very tastefully furnished (granite countertops, fancy washer/dryer, good looking cabinets, glass door shower), and actually look better than the pictures on the web site. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and know me by name even though it's a larger complex. Best of all, they're very pet friendly - it was no problem moving in with my cat and dog. There's a grocery store right across the street, and a pedestrian bridge connecting the complex to a park on the other side of San Tomas. Santana Row is 5 minutes away, and downtown San Jose is less than 15 minutes (depending on traffic of course). Couldn't be happier with this complex!

This is a beautiful community, but in a bad area. Also the "beauty" is all superficial. We have lived here less than a year and it seems like everything that can break, has. The appliances are cheap and it takes several washes to get dishes and clothes clean...which ends up costing more in utilities expenses. The property manager Lauren and assistant manager Salvador are rude and not helpful. Seems like they could care less about what goes on in the community as long as they are filling those vacant units. They send out notices to inform people of the community rules, but don't enforce them. How is a community manager suppose to enforce rules about pets, when she doesn't even follow them? Pets are suppose to be on leashes and not in the pool area and I've seen her and her little dog in the pool area. The leasing agents are great...they should take over management. When I go into the office and see that the leasing agents aren't there, I leave and wait to talk to them. They are way nicer and more helpful than the actual management. If customer service were better, I'd consider putting up with the constant need for maintenance just because I HATE moving, but the management is so bad I cannot wait to get out of this place. It is so not worth the money.

Orchard Glen is a great place to live! The management staff are very nice and go above and beyond to ensure we are comfortable. Quick summary: PROS - Great professional customer service. Always responsive to our repair requests (only 2 minor issues in the last 15+ months of renting). They throw free BBQs and free yoga every couple of months! Great way to meet your neighbors. Washer and dryer in the units - very convenient! CONS - Nothing. Even when my fiance and I were thinking about transferring to a different complex closer to work and school while still under contract, they were actually very understanding and helpful. They worked with us and they actually waived any fees we would have incurred. We didn't end up transferring because the price for the other complex went super high, but it worked out for the best. We're glad we stayed at OG for another year! This complex is very calm, quiet, and everybody is very nice. Salvador and Selena are very helpful with any questions you may have. You can be honest with them and they will give you as much information as possible, even when the best option is not in the business interest of the complex. They are both great assets to the OG management team! They both have a great deal of experience and it shows!

I signed contract with Orchard Glen thinking that I am getting a large 750 sq. ft. apartment and several amenities like free Wi-Fi etc. However, both were plain LIES. 1. They lie about square footage. In spite of my compliant, they still advertise their 1 br apartment 750 sq. ft. while it is actually only 700 sq. ft. This is quite amazing they can get away with such lies. 2. The Wi-Fi they claim does not work at all; so you will end up buying your own Internet connection. Their advertisement (such as on Craigslist) is truly horrible and full of lies.
