All they want is your money. If you can find a cheaper place in the area don't think; don't come here. Don't fall in the trap they got me into. 1-The first day when you apply they will ask you for a security deposit along with the application fees. Watch out for that money! they will not refund you if you change your mind. 2- Upon completion of a lease term, other complexes will allow you extend your stay month to month if needed. Franklin Park don't. They will charge you an additional $300/month if you want to go month to month. 3- If you are a student; they offer a 7 months lease, whereas a semester is usually 3 to 4 months. So will not avoid that extension fees. 4- When you ask about the the month to month lease extension on the phone, they mention an extension fees of $ two ninety nine /month. you will think $2.99/month; but it is actually $299/month, two hundred and ninety nine US dollar. Those people abuse their residents. When I moved here my neighbor told me the same think, but at the end of the day they just making me smarter. They are crook.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! this is a terrible place to live. for the amount of money that is charged, it is not worth it. the apartments are big, but that's it. it's not safe, there is no lock on the lobby door and anyone could come in. dont do it to yourself.
I wouldn't, if I were you. Price is decent, but misleading. Utility billing system is a scam because the units aren't individually metered. In essence, if you conserve, but the other people in your building do not, you are going to pay for it. My water bill in Bowie was $75 every three months...here is it $60 per month, and I'm not watering a yard or washing cars. Washer and dryer are the cheapest out there, and barely work. Hot water is not hot, heating and cooling are inconsistent, and I can listen to my neighbors conversations through the walls. I don't have the rodent or bug problems that other folks are referring to...but I don't really make a mess. Scammers knock on doors all the time, trying to sell newspapers, and other things. In short, there are better options out there.
If you want to freeze in the winter (even fall), and burn in the summer, Frankilin Park at Greenbelt station is an excellent choice!!!! Since I moved to here I never could get A/C and heater working…. I mean NEVER worked more than 10h. After this period the system just stop… The maintenance service is just horrible. They are not committed to fixed the problem. They always send me someone with a buck in my unit to take water of the system and relive the pressure. The problem is I am sure something needs to be replace… however they never fixed properly… Maybe to save money, or maybe because they are not able to make it, or they are lazy???? I am paying the electric and gas bills from another units, since I don't have this amenity (A/C and heater) working in my unit. The maintenance center even sent an "engineer" here around 5X to fix something outside the unit, but sincerely I think this engineer just make a makeup there…. Then, if want to leave in the SUN on summer and in an iceberg on the winter, here is the place! Be careful about the makeup they make in the units… The cabinets and other updates are nice, but come on who wants to freeze in the winter, or burn in the summer, and also pay the amenities for others tenants????… Just horrible maintenance, ever!
Please DO NOT MOVE HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY........ This place is totally infested with mice and bedbugs. My parents live here and they hate it. I spent a few nights with them as new residence and we were shocked that you could see and hear the mice running through the house on the hardwood floors at night. You can also see their feces left on the bottom of the aluminum foil in the bottom of the stove where they fix toast. The mice ate any bread crumbs left on the foil and urinated on it. When I attempted to call maintenance and speak with higher management they give you the run around. One lady even hung up the phone on me and said because my mother did not give her name she considered it a prank call and disconnected the line. It takes maintenance 1-2 wks to answer request. I just do not understand how they are still in business. Yet again, I do, people need a place to stay and sometimes will accept anything until their situation gets better. The staff is extremely unprofessional and the community is not safe. Please save your time and money don't make the same mistake that my parents did moving here. It has been PURE Hell for them.
