Definitely one of the nicer apartment complexes in North San Jose. Very safe too, since all entrances and garages are gated. Amenities are always top-notch and very clean. Staff is friendly and always helpful. The only negative I can think of is the over-sensitive smoke detectors make cooking certain dishes a challenge.
I have been at Crescent Village for 3 years now and it has been a mixed bag. There are some amazing perks and some really annoying cons. PROS: 1. The view is just Fantastic. I live on the top floor overlooking the park and hills beyond. 2. Light and Ventilation is perfect. Though I have north facing windows, the light quality is very good throughout the day as there are no tall buildings/ obstructions. 3. Swimming pool is very well maintained. I do not use the gym and hence cannot comment on that. 4.Park/lawns and neighbourhood is maintained clean and prim. No complaints whatsoever here. 5. Incase of any maintenance need, service is prompt. My drain was unclogged within 15 minutes of making a phone call. CONS: 1. The water taste keeps changing! I dont know if its the water source or the plumbing. But every other week the water tastes different, and not necessarily good. 2. Our car was broken in and the stereo was stolen. So much for the CCTV's and security (We insisted to investigate using the CCTV footage as our car is right in front of the camera but apparently theft is not big enough of a crime to hand out the super secret CCTV footage!) 3 Door slamming! Any door that shuts on the floor sets a mini earthquake in the building. 4. Noise through the walls and slabs! There is fortunately nobody above us but our neighbors below do complain of hearing our movements all day long even though we are doubly conscious of being light footed. 5. Fire alarms. I can understand that there are false alarms set sometimes but why on earth are the alarms made SO DEAFENINGLY LOUD? 6. We got a $160 hike for a lease renewal *gulp* 7. The park gets very noisy in the mornings with the leaf blowing and lawn mowing It seems like I have more cons than pros to list but I do enjoy living here and hope to continue living here till the rent hikes beyond affordability.
We had been a resident at this community for 2 years. The customer service has been terrible lately (looks like most of the good employees have left) - some of the new employees have some serious attitude issues. They upped our rent by 15% to renew which is beyond ridiculous. The manager gave us the standard BS when approached about the rent increase situation. I have seen a lot of residents move elsewhere recently which is not that surprising. The apartments/amenities are okay but certainly not worth the new exorbitant rents. We liked the community and certainly looking to renew our lease. But we won't be due to the customer service and the management unwillingness to work out a better renewal rate. Other downsides to the apartments are: the quality of the materials isn't great, thin walls, noise issues, parking hassles on the street due to the nearby park, issues with running out RSVPs for the resident events, etc.
I received the best customer service ever at the Crescent Village and North Park complexes. All of the staff i interacted with from the Irvine Company have been super friendly, helpful and accommodating in every way possible. I would recommend renting from this company to anyone I know. Katie G. and Judy C. at North Park and Tim R. at Crescent Village went above and beyond to help me out and make my move seamless. I can not thank them all enough!
I think most people that write reviews like this are nuts-- I assure you, I'm an average, every day person whom is patient and is all about fairness. The first year was great, but when it came time to transfer to a new apartment, it was a total nightmare. Tons of red tape (aka bureaucracy) meaning sales reps are forced to operate only within regimented polices. They sell you (even if it means lying) on what you "think" you are getting. I was charged a ridiculous overlap fee (paying for old apartment while xfering to new apt) when there was a verbal agreement I would be charged no more than a specific amount we agreed on. I was charged 300% of the verbal agreement. Not only that, but the apartments are cookie cutter, and sub par for the market value. Trust me, there is plenty better in south bay-- take your time and look around. In the case something goes sour here, you will find no help, even at the corporate level... even if you know someone who knows someone... you will get no help. I strongly recommend finding a honest property that is not immoral and masked in cheap stucco. Stay away from Irvine properties.
