Poor service, they are always trying to get you for something, I lived here for 2 years, the first year was ok, but after Sean left things went down hill. Bugs in the hallways, poor service from the maintaince staff, they actually yelled at me twice for driving through the parking lot! When I first moved in I recommend this place to people, but know I tell people to avoid it.
This place is just the pits , the people that work here act like you are bothering when walk in and ask a question , the maintaince act like your stupid when they show you what's wrong , the noise is a big factor they just want to fill spaces so they move a family of three in a one bedroom, the bathroom leaks from the hot stairs apt into my bathroom. Please don't rent from here you will me highly disappointed and will be rushing and waiting for your lease there's plenty of new places for the same amount of money . No matter how much you fix up this dump you can't paint a painting and tell me it's a Picasso ...
I lived in Clifton Colony from May of 2012 through March of 2015. I’ve had three different apartment managers, each increasingly worse than the one before, culminating with Roger, who I imagine is still the apartment manager. I just had to contact CMC properties because he accidentally let me out of my lease a month early, forcing me to pay an extra $268 to that terrible company. So, here’s my review. I’ll start with the positive aspects first. Good: close to UC’s campus, cheaper rent than other places in Clifton, my cat got to live there for free, and Jeff (who works in the office one or two days a week) is always really nice and understanding. I’d say he’s the only good employee that apartment complex has. Bad: Getting things done. 2 winters ago, the lock from my mailbox was removed several times. It took so many phone calls, visits, and emails to get them to take care of it. At one point, my mailbox did not have a lock for over two weeks. I would actually find my mail scattered throughout the apartment building, since people were stealing my magazines and such. This culminated in 2 $70 tickets to a musical being stolen from me and resold on Craigslist. Cockroaches everywhere. It took over 5 exterminator visits to get rid of them in my apartment. Really unsafe. My parking lot had over 6 cars all broken into within a week’s time. Employees. New employees all the time, both in the office and on the maintenance crew. One time, they forgot to finish fixing my apartment window because a maintenance worker quit part way through the job. The grounds people sit in the gym and smoke while people are working out. I brought this to the attention of the office several times, and nothing changed. One time the smell of weed was so strong in there, I could not work out. Once, I witnessed a cleaning employee hide in the maintenance closet for over 30 minutes. She finally came out when one of her colleagues opened the door to retrieve cleaning equipment. Also, the cleaning guys are way too creepy and will sit in the gym behind you and watch TV while you work out. I’ve watched them sit in there for 45 minutes at a time. I once got a false eviction notice telling me I had 3 days to move out even though my rent was paid. They staff made a mistake and forgot to write down I had paid. My upstairs neighbors were incredibly loud. I called night security several times throughout my time living there, and things never changed. The calling center can never get ahold of them. And finally, my leaking bathroom ceiling. I shall simply provide the date entries I kept of the incidences. -9/14: rained in my bathroom again…maintenance never called me back nor showed up on a weekend (and again a week later) -11/2..rained again in my bathroom. -11/12..and again..even though supposedly fixed -11/16 leaked twice -11/17 leaked again (again, supposedly fixed again) -11/20 again -1/7/15 2 more times, maintenance not helping. -1/11 again..maintenance to come on 1/12 to finally fix it! -1/17, leaked again, I have two holes in my ceiling from maintenance trying to figure problem out..now leaking through holes In sum, don't live here. The apartments are dirty and not in good shape. The apartment staff make it even worse. Roger has no control over these employees. Spend your money elsewhere, you'll be much happier.
I don't recommend anyone living here. I've lived here for about 6 months, and about half way through I had my car broken into twice. The car window is just as expensive as what little they stole. Not worth the loot. Like some of the previous reviewers have said, the office staff could care less, they tell us that there is a security camera and a person patrolling the parking lots throughout the evening. I have not seen any of that. I made police reports and I still see nothing has changed. I don't feel safe here, so if you value your safety and your property look else where. I am leaving this place, it's eaten up quite a bit of my savings, but to have some extra comfort in knowing my valuables (my car) are safe I wouldn't mind paying extra. The staff including the maintenance people are what you pay for, unfriendly with a bad attitude.
This is the worst place ever, I never recommend it to anyone so expensive for nothing and it's not that near to university campus it still need a car. I thank god that next month is the last one in my lease , I was really dumb to sign a 1 year lease. Some but not all of the bad things is this place: 1- buildings sooo damn old and in a very bad status , you hear your neighbors as you live with them and I'm a lucky one bcoz the neighbors upstairs very active 24 hour of jumping not walking , complained millions of times to the god damn very polite !!! Customer service no even an apologize 2- if you need to fix something at your cave , I mean apartment you need to plan it 1 month before with at least 2 visits to the leasing office and minimum 3 phone calls even if it's really serious thing like water leak in the walls 3- maintenance guys , omg soooo rude If you call to complain nothing will happen , just keep leaving voice mails and good luck with that , if you call after hours good luck with that as well . I never seen in this country anyone work as a customer service or any contact with people and so rude like that when you call you will hear " I can't do anything unless leave the dead office a message " After all that people you pay $635 a month Which you can just add $100 and get a whole house in a nice neighborhood not a cave and that's what I did. In general never ever even think about this complex you will feel that they give you apartment and they pay it for you. I lived there for a year and give them 0% and if I can and it's legal to sue them I will. Good luck guys
