If I could give negative stars, I would. I know every area has its problems, but this place takes the cake. they are horrible apartments repainted and 'remodeled' to cover up super old and outdated buildings. the neighborhood is dirty and entirely unsafe, with a TON of drug activity. Last year, my ground level apartment was broken into via the bedroom window. Per the cops, veryyy easily without breaking the window, they picked the cheap 'lock'. Mind you, during the breakin, I was in the living room nursing my 9 day old son! I will say the complex was helpful in moving us with no fees, however, they MADE us move out within 3 days or they said they could not help us. Now, in the new apartment, we've had multiple issues with the washing machine, our dishwasher has been completely broken for 4 months (literally requested maintenance 5 times and no one has come out), an ant issue in the kitchen (again, requested maintenance to spray and reseal window, but no one has assisted). Sad part is the last two requests were in person, and even the 'maintenance manager' said she'd put the ticket request in herself. obviously THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! oh, and good luck EVER getting through on the phone lines. I've witnessed the 3-4 person daily staff completely ignore ringing phones. so pretty much if you need anything, you have to go in person or you more than likely will not be able to get through to anyone. I've also witness their construction crews ruin vehicles, and their annoucements of upcoming construction are always wrong or off by days. oh, and parking is a nightmare. very few guest spots, and the spaces are so tiny! my care has been completely damaged by other people simply trying to get in and out of the cars parked next to me. it's ridiculous! and the pool/gym fiasco. it's great they're fixing up the old pool house. BUT: the ammenities and features of the community are apart of how rent is calculated. so please explain why it's okay to take away the gym for MONTHS to rebuild, but not offer any type of discount or compensation during that time? and for the pool, it's NOT included in your rent. if memory serves correctly, a summer pass for ONE person is about $200. you can get daily passes as well, but still. I've never heard of charging the renters to enter their community pool. but what do I know right? they're obviously open and making money since people will pay that. I just cannot wait to get out of there and put the memories behind us!!!! I do NOT recommend this place.
Absolutely the WORST place to live. If i could give it no stars I would. Not only do you get cock roaches when you first move in but you also get an office full of UNEDUCATED IDIOTS. They have no idea how to add up your rent and over charge you. They also forget to charge you for things and try to bring it back up and threaten you with termination. Luckily I read the agreement and knew their policy. I'm currently in the process of getting paperwork together to take them to court. They also never notify you when they turn water off or when they have construction going on. I witnessed them ruining multiple cars due to their construction and were told had to pay for the damages and not one single person in the office cared to apologize or offer assistance. They are by far the worst management I have ever seen. My boyfriend and I are seriously considering ending our contract early paying the money and being done with these god awful people. The only person who had somewhat of a brain is Wanda. They allow their employees to talk down to the residents and not just to myself but being in the office countless times I watched them do it to others. They allow drug dealers to stay inside the apartments while police are constantly questioning and monitoring you and others. WORST ESTABLISHMENT IN THE WORLD! TRY GATEWATER APARTMENTS BEFORE ANYTHING!
Chesapeake Glen Apartments formerly Greentree Apartments in Glen Burnie, MD is the Ghetto / Projects in Disguise!!!! Here's a list of why to never live here: These apartments are dressed up pigs! Awnings, paint, carpet, appliances, etc. look real good as a sales tool for the management until... 1) The chemically resistant mutant roaches invade! I squirted one with professional strength Ortho for 10 seconds and could swear I saw him laugh at me! 2) Minimal if any notice of inspection or need to enter by staff. Almost always they show up 5 or 6 deep to do what a one armed blind man could do by himself! They even use their key to let themselves in if you don't answer fast enough because you're sleeping because you know, they showed up unannounced! 3) You have to repair or replace 3 tires in 3 months because of the Mexican's and Maintenance nails and screws which end up in your tires because they are strewn across the parking lot! As of date posted nail number 4 sits in the driver's side rear tire on my car, I swear! 4) If you aren't in a parking spot by 11 p.m. be prepared to walk in a fairly dark area for about 250 yards or more! This is because of the non-resident residents using resident spots. You know, the ones who live 12-16 people in a 2-3 bedroom apartment with 4 cars! Management policy is 1 window sticker per apartment for 1 car! 5) The ghetto church next to the tennis court playing music outdoors whenever and as loud as they feel! 6) The mold and mildew filled washing machine that greets you on your first day of occupancy! 7) Yelling and screaming in the hallways and on the lot all hours o' the day 'er night! 8) THOSE SUBHUMAN PIECES OF GARBAGE WHO LIVE ABOVE YOU THAT LET 4 GENERATIONS OF DESCENDANTS OCCUPY THEIR 1 BEDROOM AND JUMP FROM CEILING TO FLOOR AND SLAM DOORS AND SCREAM IN THE HALLS AND OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW ALL HOURS O' THE DAY 'ER NIGHT! YOU KNOW THE ONES THAT PUT THEIR CIGARETTES OUT AND THROW THEIR BLACK N MILD BOXES ON THE STAIRS AND FLOOR INSIDE THE BUILDING?!? 9) ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE DAY, ABOUT A MONTH INTO YOUR RESIDENCY, YOU REALIZE YOU ARE IN THE SECTION 8 / GHETTO TWILIGHT ZONE! 10) CAN YOU SAY MARYLAND LAW OF, "QUIET ENJOYMENT OF PREMISES" or "CONSTRUCTIVE EVICTION BY LANDLORD"? I THINK YOU CAN! HAVE A GOOD DAY NEIGHBOR!
Worst customer service I have ever experienced just looking into apartments here at Chesapeake Glen Apartments! The manager there (short brown hair, tan skin women) was so rude not only to me and made me feel so uncomfortable she made her employee so upset that she had to excuse herself. As they were arguing about which apartment I was allowed to see I finally told them its not that big of deal I don't want to hear them argue. The manager told me that they could not accommodate my wants and needs. Just because I did not like the apartment they showed me that smelled like trash and had paint peeling off the walls. The manager should not treat her employees the way she did and she should not argue in front of potential renters! It is very unprofessional and uncomfortable. To say the least I will never move into those apartments, I will be taking my business elsewhere and I hope that the manager gets reprimanded for her unprofessional, rude and disgusting behavior. Rachel that helped us the first time should be rewarded for putting up with such crap. She was so sweet and understood exactly what I was looking for. Good luck to her.
We lived there for 2 years and had a lot of problems. Now we moved out and they are saying we owe for damages to the apartment. They sent us pics but it was not for our apartment. I feel they want us to pay for someone else damages. Plus they will not return your call to get it straighten up. So if I was you do not rent here.
