People love their pumpkin buckwheat waffles and the pecan caramel roll. They also have a collection of vintage handheld video games from the 70's and 80's that you can play while you wait or just admire the many paint by number paintings that adorn the walls.

Carrie Monroe: #hale Minnie, the lake creature, has spent the summer of 2013 in this lovely part of Lake Nokomis. This public art piece has been spending summers in Minneapolis lakes for four years now. Spy Minnie from the walking path, the bike path, or canoe or paddle out to see Minnie. Fans of Minnie can follow along on Facebook and twitter @lakecreature to see which lake Minnie will call home next summer.

Carrie Monroe: #phillipswest Open Eye Figure Theater, this space hosts puppet theater and traditional plays as well. In addition they also hold puppet workshops where people can learn more about creating puppets. In addition the theater does a driveway tour puppet show so you can bring this theater to your own neighborhood.

Pioneers and Soldiers Cemetery
Carrie Monroe: #eastphillips This cemetery is one of the oldest in Minneapolis and is the resting place to of many early settlers. War of 1812 veterans. There is a caretakers cottage that dates back to 1871. This cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places. A group dedicated to preserving the history of this cemetery hosts an annual concert to raise money for restoration projects.

Carrie Monroe: #longfellow Enjoy this neighborhood's bike lanes and bike paths on two wheels. Nice ride allows users to rent bikes from many locations in the city. Skip the bus and take bike to work or bike to one of several nearby trails. Nice Ride rates start at $6 per half hour with monthly and annual subscriptions available.

Carrie Monroe: #longfellow Merlin's Rest is a British Pub located in the heart of the neighborhood. Menu items include Bangers and Mash, Scotch Eggs, and of course the best Fish and Chips in the Twin Cities. Regular events include Pub quizzes, a drunken knitters group, whiskey tasting, and kilt and corset night.
Brackett Park
Carrie Monroe: #longfellow Bracket park. This rocket graced the playground of Bracket park since 1962. It was closed in the 1990s when it no longer met safety standards. The rocket was removed from the park in 2004 but neighbors rallied to bring it back. The rocket returned to the park in 2007 as an art piece

Carrie Monroe: #field Free Little Library. This Free Little Library, sponsored by the Pillsbury House Theater as part of Arts on Chicago, is located in a community garden. The tiny library looks like it is modeled after the theater's building located in the nearby Powderhorn neighborhood. Residents and visitors can take a book or leave a book. There are no fines or late fees so check out a book next time you are in the neighborhood.
