Carrie Monroe: #hale Minnie, the lake creature, has spent the summer of 2013 in this lovely part of Lake Nokomis. This public art piece has been spending summers in Minneapolis lakes for four years now. Spy Minnie from the walking path, the bike path, or canoe or paddle out to see Minnie. Pioneers and Soldiers Cemetery
Carrie Monroe: #eastphillips This cemetery is one of the oldest in Minneapolis and is the resting place to of many early settlers. War of 1812 veterans. There is a caretakers cottage that dates back to 1871. This cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places. A group dedicated to preserving the history of this cemetery hosts an annual concert to raise money for restoration projects.

Carrie Monroe: #field Free Little Library. This Free Little Library, sponsored by the Pillsbury House Theater as part of Arts on Chicago, is located in a community garden. The tiny library looks like it is modeled after the theater's building located in the nearby Powderhorn neighborhood. Residents and visitors can take a book or leave a book. There are no fines or late fees so check out a book next time you are in the neighborhood.

Local produce is used to make popular seasonal favorites such as rhubarb and strawberry. The perfect treat after a walk around the neighborhood. In addition to homemade ice cream they also brew their own root beer. Your four legged friend would also love some of their homemade dog ice cream.
