Pioneers and Soldiers Cemetery
Carrie Monroe: #eastphillips This cemetery is one of the oldest in Minneapolis and is the resting place to of many early settlers. War of 1812 veterans. There is a caretakers cottage that dates back to 1871. This cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places. A group dedicated to preserving the history of this cemetery hosts an annual concert to raise money for restoration projects.

The tiny library looks like it is modeled after the theater's building located in the nearby Powderhorn neighborhood. Residents and visitors can take a book or leave a book. There are no fines or late fees so check out a book next time you are in the neighborhood.

Local produce is used to make popular seasonal favorites such as rhubarb and strawberry. The perfect treat after a walk around the neighborhood.
